    FAQ

1.How is PCRun different from conventional PCR testing?

Unlike standard PCR, which requires complex thermocyclers and specialized labs, PCRun uses an isothermal amplification method. This makes the process faster (results in ~75 minutes), more affordable, and accessible for in-house testing

2.How long does a PCRun test take from start to finish?

A complete PCRun test typically takes around 75 minutes, including ~10 minutes of preparation and ~60 minutes of amplification

3.What pathogens can be detected with PCRun kits?

PCRun kits are available for detecting a variety of small animal infectious agents, including Babesia, Leptospira, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma, Parvovirus, Leishmania, Mycoplasma haemofelis, Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), and Canine Distemper Virus, among others.

4.Where can PCRun tests be performed?

PCRun tests can be performed directly in any veterinary clinic or small laboratory. The system’s compact footprint makes it suitable even in limited workspace environments

5.Do I need special training to use PCRun?

No. PCRun is designed to be user-friendly and requires minimal training. Most clinicians and technicians can operate the system using the included instruction manual.

6.What kind of results does PCRun provide?

Qualitative results displayed on a lateral flow device — easy to interpret for point-of-care use.

7.What equipment do I need to run a PCRun test?

Basic kits contain all required disposables and reagents. For most tests no extra accessories are needed. Some pathogen-specific kits (e.g., Distemper and Leishmania) may require a centrifuge and quality pipettes with barrier tips.

8.What types of samples are used for testing?

Sample types vary based on the target pathogen, common matrices include blood, urine, and swabs. Refer to the specific kit manual or consult your Biogal representative for guidance.

9.How should I store PCRun kits?

PCRun kits can be stored at 2–25 °C, and tests can be performed at room temperature. Shelf life varies by product type; extraction kits typically last up to 15 months from manufacture.
